Job Title:  Manager, Pricing Analytics

Summary of Position

Starz is seeking a manager to support pricing related initiatives across the domestic and international OTT business. The manager will assist with the global reporting and analysis of subscription pricing and price-promotion strategies, including developing tables and data fields within a Snowflake database environment; developing reports in Tableau, Excel, and PowerPoint; and supporting senior level team members in developing insights. The manager will be based in the Starz New York City offices and report to an Executive Director on the Insights & Analytics team.

Responsibilities

  • Be the Insights & Analytics team lead in analyzing, reporting, and developing insights into subscription lifetime value and cohort analysis 
  • Partner with product management, product marketing, and finance in understanding and evaluating our pricing and promotion strategies
  • Develop data products to proactively monitor current performance and track new pricing implementations and customer responses
  • Draw insights from data and clearly communicate them to stakeholders as required 
  • Build multi-dimensional cross-platform performance reports/dashboards 
  • Respond to a wide variety of ad hoc requests from internal stakeholders

Qualifications & Skills

  • 5+ years of professional experience in an analytics role
  • A strong understanding of pricing concepts and frameworks such as subscription lifetime value and cohort analysis
  • Experience with providing impactful analysis to support fundamental pricing efforts
  • Advanced SQL programming skills, 3+ years of professional experience
  • High degree of proficiency with data visualization tools (preferably Tableau), 2+ years of professional experience
  • Comfortable working with stakeholders in different departments across the organization, utilizing collaboration skills
  • Solid familiarity with database models, experience working with unstructured data, and experience loading large datasets into databases
  • Knowledgeable about (at least some of) Python, Snowflake, AWS/S3, SageMaker, R
  • Knowledgeable in statistics and/or machine learning
  • Knowledgeable in economic principles, particularly supply and demand curves
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including explaining the business implications of data analysis/reports and developing data visualizations
  • College degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or similar
