Summary of Position:

Lionsgate is currently seeking a full-time Vice President of Tax to join our high-impact tax department. This individual will be a leader in helping us keep pace with the quickly evolving global tax landscape, and will partner with key finance, legal and other business partners across the company. The ideal candidate will be a strategic, self-driven team player who has executive presence, solid project management skills, and the ability to “think outside the box”.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Leading our income tax provision for SEC reporting purposes
  • Leading our internal and external audit efforts
  • Forecasting income taxes for board meetings
  • Modeling tax implications of various business initiatives
  • Developing key technical positions
  • Critically reviewing complex tax calculations. 
  • Partner with our tax planning team on various initiatives and international structuring efforts
  • Work closely with our tax compliance team on our tax compliance efforts
  • Provide training and coaching for our junior tax personnel
  • Bring process improvement ideas to the table
     
Experience & Skills:
  • History of leading income tax provisions for complex organizations, including proficiency with highly technical areas of income tax accounting under ASC 740 principles (e.g. valuation allowances, uncertain tax positions, interim reporting, intraperiod allocation)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. federal and multi-state tax principles and the related impact to the financial statements
  • Solid understanding of transfer pricing concepts and international tax concepts (both pre- and post-TCJA) and the related impact to the financial statements
  • Ability to articulate tax concepts to both tax personnel and non-tax personnel, including our chief financial officer, chief accounting officer, and other executives
  • Drive savings opportunities and minimize risk through research and application of tax laws to the company’s facts
  • Advise leadership on the latest trends and changes to tax legislation that will impact our tax provision and tax planning efforts
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of our income tax provision, forecasts, and other tax models
  • Executive presence and the ability to lead, motivate, and develop our junior tax professionals 
  • Excellent project management, organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience at a Big Four firm and/or tax department at a publicly-traded company
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or economics
  • Master’s degree, law degree, and/or CPA license is preferred
  • Prior experience with OneSource Tax Provision is a plus
