Summary of Position:

 

The Global Strategy & Licensing team was formed to create sustainable and long-term growth across Lionsgate’s home entertainment business. This will be achieved by designing and/or refining internal strategy and managing business development opportunities, as well as supporting the division’s transactional licensing efforts. 

 

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, the Sr. Manager, Global Strategy & Licensing will be responsible for identifying, developing and executing incremental revenue opportunities for Lionsgate’s global distribution business, as well as supporting future licensing renewals and negotiations in the digital video-on-demand (VOD) ecosystem. The Sr. Manager will work across many divisions within the studio as well as with clients such as OTT channels, other studios, networks, media startups, advertisers and more. The ideal candidate will be a curious, self-starter with a strong analytical background and a strategic mindset. 

 

Responsibilities: 
•    Identify and evaluate growth opportunities for Lionsgate through research of emerging technologies, creation of experimental business models, and the formation of new partnerships
•    Project manage new and existing business development opportunities for Lionsgate home entertainment to drive meaningful results.
•    Work cross-functionally with marketing, legal, transactional sales and licensing teams to execute and close effectively
•    Identify efficiencies across home entertainment and build business cases to implement them
•    Initiate and lead strategic analysis and research that will produce insights to help guide senior management in decision making. 
•    Develop market overviews as well as create competitive landscapes in conjunction with Lionsgate’s existing research teams
•    Assist on global VOD licensing negotiations and special projects

Experience & Skills:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in finance, management, marketing or similar area
  • MBA required
  • 3-5 years’ of finance and business analysis experience pre-MBA in either consulting, investment banking or technology
  • Must have understanding of complex financial modeling, analysis, contract negotiation and reporting
  • Strong research & communication skills with the ability to present concisely & confidently to senior executives
  • A high level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint (or similar presentation software)
  • Passion for learning about the rapidly changing digital distribution landscape, combined with the ability to form strategic ideas and opinions
