Summary of Position

We are seeking an Intern for our Summer Program. This role is designed for an individual who is passionate about using their SQL, programming, and data visualization skills to drive business outcomes. The intern will work closely with our IT and business intelligence, and business teams and contribute to various data analysis projects. These projects will involve analyzing datasets from IMDB, ComScore, Variety, and various internal systems to provide valuable business insights. The position involves hands-on experience in working with multiple numerical and textual datasets from both internal and external sources, developing interactive Tableau visualizations and dashboards, and presenting findings to stakeholders. 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the team to understand, prepare, and analyze datasets and present them to business stakeholders.
  • Explore and analyze datasets to answer business questions.
  • Create or maintain data pipeline using python or SQL scripts.
  • Develop visualizations and dashboards using Tableau (or other tools).
  • Create documentation of processes, scripts, and high-level business outcomes.
  • Present the project progress and insights to the team, incorporating feedback for continuous improvement.

Skills

  • Must be current student or recent graduate in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics or a related quantitative field. No prior work experience required.
  • Intermediate SQL and Python (or similar programming) skills.
  • Have conducted in Exploratory Data Analysis and Data (Pre)Processing and manipulation in college or personal projects.
  • Working knowledge of version control technology (e.g. git). 
  • Experience with SQL databases (e.g., SQL Server, Snowflake).
  • Exposure in Tableau or PowerBI (preferred) or other data visualization tools.
  • Interested with cloud technologies, specifically Snowflake and AWS.
  • Excellent communication skills necessary for effective presentation of findings and collaboration with the team.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, with a keen interest in learning and applying new technologies.

Details

  • Interns must not work more than 36 hours per week
  • Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree
  • Interns must be current rising juniors through recent grads (within 6 months of internship start date)
  • Graduate students are eligible to apply
  • Interns must be available to work for the entire length of the program
  • All internships are paid
  • Most internship positions will require working 4 days in office
