Summary of Position

The Coordinator, Business & Legal Affairs position requires a talented, driven, ambitious and self-motivated individual who will handle a variety of legal and administrative duties in support of daily operations for the Business & Legal Affairs team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance for multiple attorneys, including scheduling meetings and conference calls, managing calendars 
  • Maintain form agreements and detailed status report; lead monthly status report meetings
  • Manage the execution, distribution, and filing of agreements
  • File documents with U.S. Copyright Office as needed
  • Draft correspondence, memos, rights summaries, and notices for internal circulation
  • Manage and process expense reports, payment statements, and invoices
  • Redline and draft agreements and amendments
  • Interface with third party lawyers, producers and several internal departments
  • Conduct legal research on various issues, including rights analysis, chain of title review and recent developments in Entertainment Law

Qualifications and Skills

  • Must be able to meet tight deadlines and capable of working with confidential legal information (legal experience preferred)
  • Possess excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, DocuSign etc.)
  • Must be extremely detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to multi-task and excel in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Nice to Haves

  • JD degree and admitted to practice law in the State of California (or pending bar examination results)
  • Experience working at an entertainment law firm, talent agency and/or television or motion picture studio or production company
  • Experience reading and handling entertainment legal contracts
  • General knowledge and understanding of the entertainment industry
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including: a professional presence; experience as a team player; and ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with other individuals across the company
  • Willingness to take initiative; self-starter who is organized and able to work without close supervision

Compensation

$47,500 - $50,000
