Job Title:  Staff Accountant

Summary of Position

Lionsgate has an immediate opening for a Staff Accountant to support the Company’s Corporate Finance and Accounting department.

 

This role is remote, but will occasionally need to come into our North Hollywood office.

Responsibilities

  • Record, verify, and post routine financial transactions, journal entries, and adjustments in the general ledger.
  • Process purchase orders, invoices, expense reports, vendor payments, and credit card charges in the general ledger; follow up with internal departments and external vendors on any missing documentation.
  • Perform reconciliations for various general ledger accounts including credit card statements.
  • Analyze production budgets to prepare, process, and track billbacks to numerous production entities on a monthly or as-needed basis.
  • Track, analyze and record back-end royalties in accordance with relevant contracts, agreements, and statements.
  • Assist in preparing quarterly and annual financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • Coordinate with external auditors by providing requested documentation, analyses, and schedules.
  • Work with internal departments and external vendors to resolve billing, payment, or collection issues.
  • Participate in special projects, conduct ad hoc reporting, data gathering, and analyses as needed to support the Accounting and Finance team or other departments. 

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum 3+ years of relevant Accounting or Finance experience.
  • College Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, preferred.
  • Exceptional analytical and Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, SUMIFs, etc. (comfort with large datasets).
  • Ability to multitask, work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong work ethic, initiative and self-motivation, requiring minimal supervision.
  • Proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Experience with QuickBooks and or SAP preferred.
  • Willingness and ability to be adaptable/flexible and demonstrate a desire to operate in a dynamic environment.
  • Entertainment accounting experience preferred.

Compensation

 $60,000 - $70,000
