Job Title: Manager, Post Production

Summary of Position
This position serves to support the Post-Production needs of the various LG Alternative Development Labels. The Manager, Post Production is responsible for the Post Production workings on the development slate from the pre-preparation stages all the way through final delivery.
Responsibilities
- Oversees the development post-production workflow
- Supervises members of the post-production team including editors, AEs, GFX team
- Responsible for on-boarding and off-boarding new development editors
- Tracks hours for each editor daily
- Coordinates with the Online Department to ensure that deadlines are met
- Manages the Development Online schedule
- Schedule and oversee final Online screenings
- QC final color in all color screenings
- QC final mix in all mix reviews
- Troubleshoots technical issues, point of contact for tech support
- Works with the Directors of Post-Production to solve problems and address issues as they arise
- Works with Development team on preparation of on-location shoots
- Assembles shoot guides for on-location shoots to synchronize footage specs between field and post
- Organizes logistics for transport of footage from field to post
- Backs up raw footage and organizes for ingest into editing systems
- Uploads and organizes all assets on NAS server for backup / AE access
- Coordinates with Assistant Editor all grouping, syncing, various prep for start of edit
- Notes Assistant Editor tasks on Trello board
- Acquires needed project assets (ripping from Youtube, downloading from Envato, Pond5, Vimeo, etc…)
- Labels all assets with established post numbering system most often using Automator
- Maintains backups and archiving of all project assets including all footage, still images, music, sound effects, graphic elements, voice over, audio, etc…
- Maintains database of all project assets on Airtable / Pilotware
- Retrieves proprietary materials from full company-wide archives for use in Development projects
- Screen records any footage not available via direct download for use in Development projects
- Downloads recorded interviews from Riverside platform, preps automated transcripts for script sync
- Coordinates all outputs and distribution of outputs / cuts
- Manages links to outputs / cuts via MediaSilo
- QCs final outputs for picture quality, audio quality, spelling and grammar accuracy
- Maintains archives of all final outputs for any ongoing distribution
- Performs some editing when requested (video and audio)
- Converts file formats when needed using DaVinci Resolve, Handbrake, Quicktime.
- Coordinates physical shipment, delivery, pickup and hand-off of various media
- Meets via Zoom/Teams with various team members for both regular and impromptu meetings
- Coordinates with any outside vendors (VO artists, transcription services, etc…)
- Downloads and archives graphics templates from various platforms
- Maintains file backups on Box.com
- Uses various AI platforms to alter audio (remove vocals from music, remove background music from dialogue, etc…)
Duties and Responsibilities
- The position requires an individual comfortable with working independently and in a team environment
- This position requires the highest level of confidentiality to be maintained at all times
- Knowledge of post-production filing and labeling systems
- Strong knowledge of video and audio formats
- Heavy email and phone correspondence
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong ability to diplomatically manage a diverse range of team members
- Strong eye for detail and the ability to notice small errors in fast moving video and audio
- Ability to manage priorities on multiple projects from multiple teams
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent film/television production experience
- Must have knowledge of Post-Production and Development
- 2 to 4 years of coordinating/supervising in Post Production
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Teams)
- Must be proficient in Google Cloud (Docs, Sheets, Drive, etc…)
- Must be comfortable with the Macintosh Operating Systems (knowledge of Automator is essential)
- Must be knowledgable in editing software (Adobe, Avid, ProTools, DaVinci Resolve)
- Knowledge of Box.com, MediaSilo, Pilotware, Filemaker, Pro, AirTable, Trello, and Riverside recording platform a plus
