Summary of Position
Lionsgate Canada’s Finance team has an immediate vacancy for a Senior Accountant, Reporting Finance. Reporting to the Director, Finance, the Senior Accountant supports quarterly close and reporting by preparing financial reporting packs and recording key accounting entries, including payroll, accruals, fixed assets, leases, taxes, and foreign exchange revaluations. The role manages intercompany transactions and consolidation eliminations, ensuring accurate and timely financial information in compliance with accounting standards.
Responsibilities
- Maintain lease and fixed asset schedules and record all related entries.
- Post and reconcile payroll entries, including salaries, bonuses, vacation, and capitalized labor.
- Maintain Intercompany schedules, record intercompany interest, FX remeasurements, and consolidation eliminations.
- Take ownership of the Canadian HST/QST and withholding taxes across multiple entities, ensuring timely filing of returns.
- Identify and record accruals and maintain prepaid expense schedules.
- Prepare and review reporting packs for management and board of director’s use
- Maintain strong internal controls, balance sheet reconciliations, and audit‑ready documentation.
- Support quarterly audits by providing schedules, reconciliations, and responding to audit requests.
- Perform ad hoc reporting and financial analysis to support management and the broader finance team.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and professional designation, CPA preferred
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of accounting experience
- Knowledge of accepted accounting rules, practices, and reporting requirements
- Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization
- Advanced experience in Excel; strong experience in MS Word and Outlook
- Experience with SAP and Analysis an asset
- Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, multi-tasking and execution skills
- Ability to use initiative and take ownership of outlined responsibilities
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
- Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy

Compensation
$80,000 - $90,000 CAD
