Senior Accountant, Content Finance

Summary of Position
Lionsgate Canada’s Finance team has an immediate vacancy for a Senior Accountant, Content Finance. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Finance, the Senior Accountant is responsible for day-to-day and quarterly reporting within the finance department. This individual will make a strong contribution by being actively involved in quarter end closing including but not limited to maintenance of film accounting models, overall responsibility of investment in production (IIP) and acquired content (IIC), trial balance analysis, and liaising with the relevant teams for clarity on general ledger balances as well as ensuring compliance with internal controls.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain various participations and royalty accrual models to calculate and record royalties payable to producers
- Support the quarter end process by preparing and reviewing film accounting models for content asset amortization
- Perform variance analysis against the budget/forecast
- Analyze and reconcile relevant P&L and balance sheet accounts
- Assist the team in the month end close by preparing necessary journals and completing other tasks on request
- Assist in maintaining the integrity of the general ledger
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and support external audit processes
- Participate in special projects as needed
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and professional designation, CPA preferred
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of accounting experience
- Knowledge of accepted accounting rules, practices, and reporting requirements
- Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization
- Advanced experience in Excel; strong experience in MS Word and Outlook
- Experience with SAP and Analysis is an asset
- Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, multi-tasking and execution skills
- Ability to use initiative and take ownership of outlined responsibilities
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
- Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy

Compensation
$80,000 - $90,000 CAD
