Summary of Position

Lionsgate Television is seeking a Current Programming & Scripted Development Intern.  This intern will work with the Current Programming team to provide creative and administrative support while shadowing the department as they manage LGTV’s slate of shows. This intern will also work with the Development team to help source IP and assess incoming material. Looking for a self-starter who is passionate about the TV creative process and wants to learn more about the day to day of how a TV show gets made. An interest in book scouting, and a fast reader is a positive for any candidate. The team is interested in fostering an aspiring scripted television executive’s skills across all areas of scripted development. 

Responsibilities

  • Script reading, coverage, research, basic administrative grid upkeep, creative brainstorming in response to marketplace needs, director grids, competitive tracking, and general creative decorum 
  • Helping with Admin/IT for department 
  • Updating databases via Airtable 
  • Shadowing executives on creative projects to learn about the creative process 
  • Interns will have plenty of opportunity to observe and participate in development and current programming conversations regarding active and internal development projects 
  • Intern will practice writing creative notes on active development 
  • Covering assistant desks when needed (phones, scheduling, expenses, etc.) 

Skills

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university pursing a degree in Television, Film, or any related field 
  • Passion for Television strongly required 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills 
  • Candidate should be prepared to complete final project

Details

  • Interns must not work more than 40 hours per week
  • Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree
  • Interns must be current rising juniors through recent grads (within 6 months of internship start date)
  • Graduate students are eligible to apply
  • Interns must be available to work for the entire length of the program
  • All internships are paid
  • Most internship positions will require working 4 days in office

Compensation

$19 per hour
