Summary of Position

Lionsgate has an immediate opening for a Director of Corporate Reporting. This highly visible role will lead key aspects of external financial reporting and corporate accounting while partnering with senior executives on strategic initiatives. The position will oversee SEC filings, ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and SOX 404, and provide accounting and reporting guidance on M&A, investments, and capital market activities. The successful candidate will combine deep technical expertise with strong leadership, executive communication skills, and the ability to drive process improvements across reporting functions. This role provides significant exposure to the CFO, CAO, and other finance executives and is a critical leadership position within the Corporate Finance organization.

Responsibilities

Corporate Accounting & Reporting

  • Oversee preparation, documentation, analysis, and reconciliation of complex journal entries, including Corporate Debt, Film-related obligations, Investments, Lease Accounting, Noncontrolling Interests, Purchase Accounting, and Stock-Based Compensation.
  • Manage quarterly preparation and review of Form 10-Q and 10-K filings, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Support the preparation of other SEC filings (e.g., 8-K, Proxy filings) and compliance with SOX 404 requirements.
  • Prepare quarterly EPS calculations, statements of cash flows, and related supporting analyses.
  • Research, analyze, and implement new disclosure requirements for SEC filings.
  • Prepare quarterly earnings release tables and support related external communications and presentations.

 

Audit & Compliance

  • Serve as primary liaison with external auditors, providing audit support and variance analyses for quarterly and annual reviews.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and documentation supporting the disclosure process.

 

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Partner with financial planning, investor relations, legal, tax, internal audit, and corporate development teams to ensure alignment on key reporting matters.
  • Provide accounting and reporting guidance to senior leadership on strategic initiatives, including mergers, acquisitions, investments, and capital or debt offerings.

 

Team Leadership & Process Improvement

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing reporting team, fostering technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive automation and optimization of reporting processes using SAP, BPC, Workiva, and other reporting tools to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications and Skills

  • 8+ years of relevant experience, including public accounting and SEC reporting. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA license required.
  • 5+ years of management or leadership experience, with a track record of building and leading teams.
  • Strong technical expertise in U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting rules/regulations, and the ability to research and resolve complex accounting issues.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with executive leadership and, ideally, experience presenting to the Audit Committee or Board.
  • Strong writing, analytical, and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Advanced Excel skills.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience with SAP, BPC, and Workiva preferred.
  • Entertainment or media industry experience is a plus.

Compensation

$130,000 - $140,000
