Summary of Position
Lionsgate is seeking an experienced music attorney to work in its music legal and music business affairs departments. The successful candidate should have experience handling a wide range of music agreements. This person will work with and provide counsel and advice to applicable company executives on music issues.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the negotiation, drafting, administration and managing to conclusion of various music agreements and other documents for the creation and/or exploitation of original and/or licensed musical compositions and recordings for
use in motion picture, television and new media projects. - Provide all music legal and business affairs services to the TV Music and Film Music departments. Advise and help problem
solve music issues with other client groups including Acquisitions, Co-Productions, Legal Delivery, Credits, Marketing, Home Entertainment, Location-Based Entertainment, International and Post-Production.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum 5 years’ experience handling a wide range of music agreements in the motion picture and/or television industries
- Experience working with composer, producer, artist, songwriter, music supervisor and publishing agreements as well as synchronization and master use licenses
- Effective time management skills are essential, with the ability to balance multiple matters concurrently in a challenging fast-paced environment
- J.D. degree and membership in good standing with the State Bar of California
Nice to Haves
- Experience working with a law firm, studio, record label or music publisher handling music issues is preferred but not mandatory.

Compensation
$50.48/hr. - $62.50/hr. ($105,000 - $130,000 annualized)
