Summary of Position

The Attorney, Business & Legal Affairs position requires a talented individual who will handle a variety of business & legal affairs responsibilities in supporting the Global Products and Experiences and Corporate Legal groups.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and negotiate a variety of agreements related to ancillary exploitations, including those relating to consumer products, video games/interactive ventures and live & location-based entertainment.
  • Draft and circulate other legal correspondence (e.g., letters and notices to external parties, etc.) and agreement summaries.
  • Conduct legal review of creative materials for ancillary exploitations and the marketing thereof, including advising on clearances, talent obligations, guild considerations, etc.
  • Review and summarize rights and talent agreements related to motion pictures and television programs, analyze legal risks, and develop solutions to mitigate potential challenges.
  • Coordinate input on a variety of legal, financial, business, and creative matters across various internal departments at the studio.
  • Trademark and copyright work, including as it relates to registrations and coordinating internally on enforcements.

Qualifications and Skills

  • JD degree and admitted to practice law in the State of California
  • 3+ years of legal experience at a motion picture or television company or a major entertainment law firm
  • Extremely detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to multi-task and excel in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent negotiation, drafting, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills

Additional Requirements

This position requires five (5) days per week in office.

Compensation

$95,000 - $100,000
